Need a couple of Banner Ideas?
I’m making a banner to advertise my Grandmother’s laboratory .. If it’s good enough she might actually use it… I’ll use photoshop CS5 but I need some ideas on how to improve it… I’m thinking of getting an empty banner then do the writing that she had asked….But I need some sort of design, an idea that would make it a bit unique…Any thoughts?
I’ve been doing web development since the 90′s both as manager and developer. I keep a bookmark list on my browser and bookmark any good layout or design I like as I find them. So, when I’m ready to design something, I simply look at the bookmarks for inspiration. It works well to find something you like, then use it to inspire your graphics. For ads, think of ads you’ve seen on TV or the web and find one that evokes the feeling or concept you desire. The Web is all about collaboration. Never steal anything exactly though, but use it to inspire. Start first with the message you want to convey, get som inspiration from others, write out some storyboards or drafts, then create. If you are a newbie, work with what’s easy for you to do. In Photoshop, I like the gradient and the render-lense effect for easy stuff.
