Do Christian scholars still ban Harry Potter books?

I heard they have eased up a bit, because there have been some changes. I need some proof that they have. I home school and our town library has lots of the books I was never allowed to read before.
Deut. 18:10-14

Everyone in my youth group reads Harry Potter. We don’t USE witchcraft, just read about it.
