Warhammer 40k Building an army?
I am new to Warhammer 40k, and would like to build an army. I have no idea what a good choice would be, but I would like an army that has a large amount of infantry, easy to paint, and closely resemble humans, and human vehicles (Like tanks, and helicopters). Suggestions would be great.
It sounds like what you want is Imperial Guard. They are the “human” army of the Imperium of Man (as opposed to the superhuman elite of the Space Marines). Based around Infantry platoons and tanks, it has a broad range of models and some pretty cool rules that let you customize your army to a good strong “flavour” (armour infantry, sneaky scouts, techno-barbarians, you name it).
I’d note that you won’t find helicopters in any human army in the 40k range. The only rotary vehicle is the Ork deffkopta. But the Imperial Guard does have the Valkyrie transporter which is currently only available as a resin kit from http://www.forgeworld.com, but rumours of a plastic version for release next year have recently been confirmed.
