warhammer rules my life?
Greetings fellow humanoids, I recently brought back a girl to my house only for her to freak out when she saw how many warhammer figurines I have. I’m 46 by the way. I can’t help it. Ever since I’ve been a kid, I’ve been playing warhammer like its my job – and I wish was. I love it. You know when your crossing some hard terrain with some orc boyz about to completely own some scummy dark elf raiders with their wicked lifestyles, they torture the rest of the races in the world by the way so it is justified, I can’t help but just get sooo riled up! Help cause I want to achieve the quest of marriage someday.
I’m answering this question with immense caution. I’ve seen similar posts from trolls on Y!A before (“I’m a geek – please help me meet girls!”) and addressing us as “fellow humanoids” is hardly helping your case. However, I’ve decided that a serious answer is warranted and, if you are a troll, my ego can probably cope.
First up, you’ll be pleased to hear that I’m a long-time geek myself. Check my record of answers and you’ll see that 90% of them are Warhammer-related. You wish you could paint Warhammer as a job? Having established my credentials, we need to address your issue. You have a number of problems facing you:
You are 46 and single. To most of the women in whom you might be interested, this is a huge, flashing red light. Being widowed or divorced wouldn’t be a problem. Being a bachelor, is. They tend to figure that if, in 46 years, no other woman has been prepared to take a risk on you, then neither should they. You have to overcome this immense hurdle and that brings us onto points 2 and 3.
You are a geek. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, for my generation (you’ve got more than ten years on me) and those younger than me, being an adult geek is a positive advantage in the lists of love, because women in the 25-35 age bracket have begun to recognize that geeks (a) tend to be into commitment, (b) tend to want children and (c) tend to have a reasonable income or at least the means to acquire one. However, in your generation, geeks are still suffering an image problem and women tend to focus on our obsessive natures and childish preoccupations as negative traits.
What does this mean? Well, as you managed to get as far as bringing a girl (I really hope you mean “woman”, because, dude, otherwise that’s just creepy) back to your house you clearly have the ability to meet and charm women, even if your success-rate is hit and miss. But if your house is a shrine to your hobbies, then that’s going to be a big turn-off. So allocate a single room to your hobby and move everything into there. Don’t make it the living room, kitchen or your bedroom. This sends the message that, yes, you have a hobby but it doesn’t consume your entire life and there’s plenty of room for a woman.
Finally, you need to do something about your world-view. Addressing people as “fellow humanoids”, getting “sooo riled up” about the Dark Elves (which are – need I remind you? – fictional) and speaking of marriage as a “quest” suggest traits that will be substantial obstacles to making emotional connections to women. If you can’t look real life in the eye and put your hobby in the limited box where it belongs, then you can expect to end life single.
