Are vehicles in Warhammer 40k affected by a weapon that is a type “heavy”?
I was just wondering if vehicles firing a heavy type weapon are allowed to move, because I dont want to have to sit my land speeder down under fire while it shoots of 4 shots of assault cannon…
Vehicles are not affected by the heavy/assault/rapidfire/pistol ratings for weapons like other models are, but have seperate classifications for them. Defensive weapons are weapons strength 4, ordanance and ord. barrage have the word in their profile and all weapons 5 strength or higher that are not ordnance or barrage make up the last catagory.
Depending on what type of vehicle it is (tank, walker, skimmer, fast vegilce ect ect) and how far it has moved in that turn determines how many may be fired. For example, a tank that has moved at “combat speed” (6 inches) can fire 1 weapon that is strength 5 or greater, and all its strength 4 or less weapons.
