Warhammer 40k Terrain help?
What kind of terrain should i build i only have 1 model but am looking to make terrain and collect and army or 2, so should i create ork, chaos, or tyranid terrain?
Well, for starters, its probably good to have generic terrain like hills, forests and walls. Hills can easily be made out of various kind of craft styrofoam carved, painted and flocked appropriately. Forests just need a few trees and either a base (which can be made of wood, cardboard, fabric or more) or a line of lichen to show the edge of the forest.
Basic terrain like this will give you the building blocks you need for a good game.
Going an extra distance to make army appropriate terrain can certainly add some neat flavor. With orks, you’d probably be looking at making buildings; ramshackle and looking they’ve been built out of spare pieces (which they probably have).
Nid terrain would be a lot of fun, and a challenge to build. You could have subtle “corrupted” terrain; like forests with alien growths spreading through them, all the way up to spore chimneys and hive nodes.
