can someone explain the warhammer space marines armies to me?
i dont understand who is with who, theres ultramarines, blood angels, dark angels and blood angels death company, so now are they all a part of the same army? or do you have to choose just 1? or can you pick whatever you want and mix and match ?
You will be expected to pick a single army from one Codex book for the majority of games. The current Codices that cover Space Marine lists are:
Codex: Black Templars
Codex: Blood Angels
Codex: Dark Angels
Codex: Space Marines
Codex: Space Wolves
If you want to play Black Templars, Blood Angels, Dark Angels or Space Wolves you should use their books. If you want to play a Chapter that already has its background established then you should use the appropriate book. For example some Chapters are based on Blood Angels, so you would use the Blood Angels Codex for them.
If you are making up your own chapter then you can use which ever book you like as long as you make it clear to your opponent before hand.
In the background of the game setting Space Marine chapters are an elite wing of the armies of humanity.
