What should I put in a 1500 pt Daemonhunters Warhammer 40k Army / Space Marines allied with Daemonhunters army?
I’m relatively new to Warhammer 40k. I’ve played as Tau using the battleforce, but I always got creamed by Space Marines.
Then I started looking around, and found the Daemonhunters. I absolutely love them. The models, backstory, I just can’t get over how sweet they are.
Anyways, I want to spec an army for just Daemonhunters (no allies with the stormtroopers or marines) then another based on Marines (any sect will do) which includes Grey Knight Terminators at minimum.
I’m open to any suggestions at this point, I just want to get some other opinions.

Well, the first thing you should know is that, as a rather old codex – and one that was a bit flaky to start with – the Daemonhunters codex is a little ragged around the edges and you’ll need to refer to a lot of FAQs to fit in into the new rules and other codexes.
However, if it pushes your button, then go for it! The Grey Knight terminators and even their smaller, power armoured brethren are some of the deadliest core units in the game and, mounted in a fleet of Land Raiders, can pour on the bad hurt like none other. Their problem is that they are invariably outnumbered, even by other elite armies like space marines and can find achieving their objectives disproportionately challenging.
I’m currently working on a GK army that is led by a Grand Master, has an Inquisitor along as an Elites choice, and then has three 10-man Grey Knight squads and four Grey Knight terminators, all carried in three Land Raiders. It’s not a particularly potent list, as compared to armies of equivalent size, it’s rather small. But my goodness it hits hard! And with three squads, each in a Land Raider, and teleporting Terminators (the Inquisitor’s not really part of the army, he just tags along on foot!), it can still scare the heck out of anyone you care to name.
For Space Marine lists, the new codex is so flexible that all sorts of combos are possible. I’d recommend starting with a core of two to three tactical squads and then bolting on other units to taste as you go along.
