I have a question about warhammer space marines.?
in the space marines, there are different types dreadnoughts, what is the difference between the normal dreadnought and the venerable dreadnoughts, other than the looks of it.
If you’re planning on playing Warhammer 40,000 and collecting a Space Marine army, then you really need to invest in “Codex: Space Marines”. This is the book of special rules, characters and units that can be chosen in a space marines army.
There are three different dreadnought types: normal, venerable and ironclad and they each have slightly different stats, abilities and weapons options that are explained clearly and in detail in the codex.
Venerable dreadnoughts represent dreadnoughts that are at least centuries, if not millennia old. Their occupants are near-legendary in stature and their sarcophagi have been extensively reworked by the chapter’s master artificers to represent their greater stature. They are equipped with the finest weaponry from the chapter’s armouries, both as a gesture of honour and to make best use of their unique and finely-honed abilities. A Venerable dreadnought is a mighty and valuable weapon, awoken only when the threat to the Imperium is greatest.
As a result, their rules reflect this place of honour, superior ability and powerful weaponry.
