Are there any series which are like Warhammer 40k but not AS…..grimdark?
By this, I mean, less apocolyptic, at least one faction that is at least as or more moral than the Tau (or a human faction that is nicer than the Imperium.) However, still is about war and massive armies.
And not starcraft. Stacraft doesn’t have enough factions.
I don’t think I am that likely to leave 40k, but the thing is, I am finding that much of the fluff community is hostile to my not “grimdark” view of things. If the next codex is much darker than the current one (i.e. Tau go bad.) then I want to have a place I can pack my bags and head off to.
Well, the obvious option is AT-43, from Rackham. “Like 40k but not as grimdark” is pretty much the baseline descriptor. However, be aware that Rackham has suffered some financial problems, recently, and support for AT-43 is waning. Still, it is a very good game and the rules can be downloaded from free from their website so you can give it a look over without committing straight away.
