Warhammer 40,000 Tau Devilfish + Hammerhead weapons sprue = Hammerhead Gunship?
I am getting a Tau battleforce which contains a Devilfish transport tank I won’t really use and since you can purchase the Hammerhead Gunship weapon sprue from Games Workshop, I was wondering if you could just add the Railgun turret to the top of the Devilfish and call it a Hammerhead Gunship.
Are the 2 models the same size and all? (only difference being the turret) and if not has anyone had success or think that this will work? Im not too stressed if it looks a little “out of proportion”

Yhey are the same except for a few key difference besides the turret. A devilfish has gun drones in the “head” slots and a burst cannon slung under the front of the hull. A hammer head has burst cannons instead of drones and a targeting system slung under the front. This is on top of the different turrets. That being said, i would strongly reconsider your use of hammerheads over devilfish. Tau are most effective in the “MSU” style of play, with each unit mounted in a devilfish. Furthermore, hammerheads are only better than broadside suits if you are facing a horde army as the sub munition grants that much needed template, but otherwise broadsides win.
