DoW: Dark Crusade – VS’ing’ Rushing Orks ~ Strategy?
Hey,
In about 2 days I have a big game of Warhammer 40k (Dawn Of War) Dark Crusade coming up. Not a tournament or anything but a guy challenged me to a game and he is extremely good. (I’ve seen him win games with more than 1 (human) player (All VS’ing’ Him)) Although my changes or winning aren’t fantastic i would at least like to do as good as i can. I’ve already developed some of my own Strategy’s but it couldn’t help getting some other peoples opinions. I’ve heard from people that he’s previously VS’d’ that he will rush. He is going to play as Orks (100% Sure) and we will most likely play on the map “Kaytyr Lutin” to make it fair he said i could have a team-mate so it will be 2 VS 1. Which looks like i have good chances of winning…. But he is good. If anyone wants to discuss some strategy’s when playing rushing orks such as what 2 races me and my team-mate should be. That would be great.

I say pick the imperial guard, I usually use them when fighting the orcs since they’re cheap and expendable, and some good units like the Ogryn.
Now, guard the three bridges with your life, put all your defenses there, put every turret you can on the bridges, recruit as many Imperial Gaurdsmen as you can before he rushes you with his Orks, dont worry about the elite units like the commander, but you should probaly recruit at least one commisar, after(if) you manage to fight off his first assault, put a few outposts deeper within the map, and start building up your armies, then start sending a few assaults towards his base as fast as you can to slow him down, put a few guardsmen, a leman russ, and some ogryn into groups and keep sending them off to wear down his frontline, eventually you’ll break through and defeat him, thats all I got for this.
