Warhammer 40K Question!please help!?
How do I tell if i wounded something without using the Strength and Toughness chart?
For instance,
The strength of my pulse rifle(which is a 5)against the toughness of a Imperial Guardsmen(which is a 3). How do i figure out what to roll in order to wound without using the S&T chart?
Also,can someone explain the AP thing to me.
I am a new player BTW.
Strength versus Toughness are really easy to work out in your head.
If the S and T are equal, you need 4+ to wound. For each point the S is higher than the T, the required score goes down. So S3 v T3 needs 4+, but S4 v T3 needs 3+ to wound.
For each point the S is lower than the T, the required score goes up. So S2 v T3 needs 5+ to wound.
The required score cannot get worse than 6+ or better than 2+ to wound.
EDIT – AP is pretty simple, too. You compare the AP to the armou save. If the AP is equal to or lower than the save (e.g. AP 5 v Sv 5+) then the target gets no armour save. AP and armour saves are unusual in that the lower they are, the better.
