What makes Harry Potter so great?
Don’t get me wrong, I love the series. But what exactly makes it so great? The idea is a bit odd, witches, wizards, trolls and goblins. The first book, in my opinion, was uninteresting. But somehow I came back for more, as did many others. So what was it that made them so interesting?
I think it is a combination of things. At the time, the only book that had come out with that much fantasy had been The Hobbit- and let’s face it…that one was pretty boring. Then you have the way that it was written, which was very well- better than most young-adult writers out there. Plus, the suspense. Each book left you wondering what was going to become of this boy who started out in a coupbord and became a very famous person- wizard at that. They encouraged people to use their imaginations.
