Computer Hardware – Need advice!?
I was wondering if these parts are sufficient for gaming, and I’m not talking about Crysis on max settings, I’m talking about Warhammer on max settings, or WoW , stuff like that.
[Hard Drives] 640GB – SATA-II, 3GB/S, 7200RPM, 16MB Cache
[Optical Drives] Single Drive: 16X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) w/double layer write capability OR Dual Drives: Blu-ray Disc (BD) Combo (BD-ROM; DVD/CD Burner) and DVD-ROM
[System] Vista Home or Ultimate since they don’t sell XP anymore
[Video Card] nVidia GeForce 9800GT 512MB or ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB
and should I get a Killer K1 Gaming Network Interface Card or not.
For optical drives, I was wondering which one is better, cause I don’t want to waste money buying dual if it doesn’t make much difference.
For the Killer K1 Gaming Network Interface Card, I have no idea what it does, but Dell labels it as “Gaming Essential”.

you didn’t tell what mobo and CPU you have or are planning to get, but for the mentioned rest it looks good.
if you don’t need blu-ray you can get the single drive version (blu-ray isn’t that wide spread atm. you better wait and get a blu-ray writer if it is affordable).
if i had to chose the graphics card, i would get the ATI HD 4850 (ok, i’m biased a bit).
concerning the Killer K1 NIC – forget it. it will hardly be faster than the integrated LAN (and if, you will always be able to upgrade later).
