What size propane tank do I need for 6.5 gallon wort boil?
I’m looking to move to All-Grain and have a Turkey Fryer picked out that *says* it features a 40,000 BTU burner. If I were to do a full boil of 6.5 Gal of wort, how much propane would I have to estimate using for a typical 1 hr boil…and will a 40k BTU burner even work for that?
What you have with a full 20 pound tank should be fine. Just don’t use an aluminum pot for the boil. Stainless would be better. The aluminum can leave a strange taste in the beer.
