How to make wash paint for miniatures?
I started playing Warhammer 40k last summer, Space Marines. My painting until now has been very simple. I’ve been giving them a black coat and then just painting the gold parts gold, the red parts red etc. I didn’t paint them as Ultramarines. I’ve been trying to put more detail into my future models, so I was wondering how to make a wash? My local game shop’s paint selection doesn’t have any washes, just GW and Citadel paints. So I was wondering how to make a wash so I can give my marines more detail? Can I use the Citadel paint to make it, or do I need this Acrylic stuff I keep hearing about.
Also, while you’re here, what is the best way to strip paint off a GW model without ruining the model itself?

To make a wash, you need a highly diluted mixer of paint, preferable black, or another dark color. I always made it using 1 drop of paint to 9 drops of thinner. Apply it by capillary action, let dry a little bit, then wipe off the excess with a Q-Tip and thinner.

Do not use the same type of paint as your base coat, unless you want to ruin your paint job!
To strip the paint of a model, the best way is to spray Easy Off oven cleaner in a plastic bag, then seal your kit inside the bag overnight. The fumes will eat at the paint, and make it come off real easy. Test on a kit you don’t might possibly ruining, first, though.
