warhammer 40k: can an immobilized dreadnought fight?
today in a game, there were two dreadnoughts in close combat. they both made each other immobilized. so now they are in base to base contact and facing each other. they both still have their close combat arms and assault cannons
can they continue close combat next player turn? or can they only shoot their guns since they are immobilized?

They certainly can continue to fight! “Immobilized” means that they can’t perform any “movement” (normal move, run [note that they can't run, I'm just using that as an example] or assault) but they can still shoot and lash out at anyone or anything stupid enough to get close.
The image of two dreadnoughts slugging it out, toe to toe, both of them immobilized, is – I think – rather a romantic one in the “stupidly heroic” sense.
