Am I A Nerd Or Not, What Do You Think?
According to the Wikipedia definition of “nerd”, I am one. I wear glasses, I’m shy and socially awkward, and I’m into a lot of geeky stuff such as films, hard rock and metal, Internet culture, YouTube, creative writing, videogames and so forth. I also scoff people with the “sheep” mentality, and like to think I’m different and more intelligent than the norm, all of which are nerd characteristics.
However, whenever I walk past the “Games Workshop” here in my town (which sells fantasy/role playing games a la Warhammer 5000) and peek inside, I always think “they wouldn’t catch me dead among *those* people!” I also find Trekkies (the kind that wear Federation uniforms and do the “live long and prosper” sign) and cosplayers fairly ridiculous.
So do you think I’m a nerd or not?
I am in the UK, and I am from Portugal. If I was in the USA I would have killed myself by now I think :p
