40k Imperial Guard army list check?
Well this is a proposed list for a 2000 point game
HQ
Commissar Yarrick
Lord Castellan Creed (Replaces company command squad)
Officer of the fleet
Master of Ordanence
Troops
2 platoons(bear minimum) that are made of
4 infantry squads(2 per platoon) heavy bolters in all squads
Armoured
Ordanence Battery: 2 Basilisks
2 Leman Russ Squadrons: 2 in each squad(total 4) all with heavy bolter sponsons
Fast attack squadran: 2 hell hounds
1 Valkyrie Assault carrier
So what do you think for a highly mechanized IG army? should i cut back on something? Should i make it more balanced? should i focus more on this? Please tell me
Well the imperial guard infantry typically has very low armor which is why they need more than most army’s excluding tyranids. because they imperial guard is based mostly on huge numbers and strong mechanization (tanks) I would only recommend this: buy some more infantry squads if for nothing else than to hang back and help protect the heavy artillery.
