Can a battle trained horse (medieval destrier spec.) crush a human skull with a bite?
I have read, in the past, that a trained destrier (medieval heavy weight battle trained horse) was trained to be a lethal weapon in and of itself, and often trained to not only crush and trample, but also to bite the skulls of opponents whenever the opportunity presented itself.
My problem now is that I cannot confirm this fact. Can anyone offer a citation that would support this? (I’m not looking for conjecture or guesswork, but an actual reasonably reliable source).

I can’t believe that a horses jaw would open wide enough. Still, getting a bite on the skull would really ruin your day.
