So, the Imperial Guard?
A friend of mine wants me to start playing Warhammer 40K. I’ve looked at the armies, and I want to play as the Imperial Guard (mostly as a style kind of thing, and because everyone seems to go with the Space Marines), but I’m really wondering what their advantage is. It appears to be mass numbers, but if said mass numbers get decimated within the first turn because of crappy armor and toughness, they don’t really seem worth playing as. Also, while I know their tanks are great, I’ve heard the guns of the guardsmen are really suckish. Is there ANY advantage to playing as the Imperial Guard other than their tanks?
If you play your cards right with tactics, Guardsman can win the day, I’m a guard player, and i’m not tank heavy, all you really need if you wanna go all out infantry is heavy weapons(Autocannon’s/Lascannon’s/Missile Launchers come to mind)
