did you see the film terminator: salvation?
this movie has always left me scratching my head. not just TS but all the terminator films. as we all know by now john connor befriended his father(kyle reese) which he met when kyle was a teen while john himself was in his mid 30s early 40s in the future. my question is this; in the movie world how the hell do you explain kyle reese traveling through space and time to procreate with sarah connor(john connor’s mom)? ithat’s not even the question i want to ask but damn how are they able to exist in the same timeline(john and kyle) with the father being younger then the father???? lol

If you really think about it, the whole thing is based on the theory that time does not happen in lines but in a circle or multiple circles. What they’re trying to make you see is that if Kyle Reese had been killed, the future that already was (which is the time at which Terminator Salvation was happening) would continue to happen with John Connor in it but the past that John Connor would have sent the younger Kyle Reese to would not be the same. With Kyle’s death, Sarah would have been killed in the alternate world future and this would mean that John Connor would never have existed and that, theoretically, Skynet would have destroyed the human race.
It doesn’t make sense because we don’t have time travel. Traveling back in time would screw everything up. Changing the past means that you’re changing the outcome of the future. So maybe if Kyle Reese wasn’t sent from the future to the past, John Connor wouldn’t be the fated leader of the Resistance, maybe somebody else would have been. Or maybe the human race would have been annihilated ON Judgement Day instead of surviving it because John Connor had not existed.
It’s just a movie and I’m just speculating, so don’t get so stressed out about it!
