In Dungeons and Dragons, why do female players almost every time play elves with high charisma?
In my 10 years of playing I’ve only seen one female player play a dwarven woman, mostly all of them play elves with 18 charisma, even when is not a required stat for their class.
First off, you’re definitely attracting the wrong kind of women. Anyone who’s smart knows that humans are the superior race for D&D because of the extra feat and skill points. =P
Second off, and probably related to the first, I’d suspect it’s because these women were raised to believe that the only way they’re worth anything is if they’re pretty. If they’re not pretty, then nobody wants them and they’ll never get anything they want out of life. So they pick elves, which are listed in the PHB as being hauntingly beautiful to human eyes, and then crank up the statistic that’s most easily related to physical attractiveness. And these girls probably did everything they could to be cute and flirty and leverage their looks for everything they were worth, didn’t they?
