Warhammer 40K Collectibles?
Okay, so I like to plan ahead. And I want to get the most perfect gift for my boyfriend when he turns 21 this summer. I don’t want to just get him only alcohol (I will get him some but I want a more special gift with it), because he got me a beautiful $$$ necklace for mine–I felt bad, how was I to repay him? I don’t have as much money as him so I can’t go spending tons on boy bling (not that they really wear it anyway…)
AND SO, his favorite thing in the world is Warhammer. I always call him a nerd about it, but it’s what he really loves so I want to support it this time around. I don’t want to buy him the actual pieces for the game–I don’t know what the heck he needs. I want to just get him a beautiful collectible, like a beautiful resin statue of a character…but I’m not sure these exist. Can anyone point me in the direction of something 40k Warhammer related in terms of collectibles and not playable pieces?

Games Workshop has an independent subsidiary called Forgeworld that periodically releases a large statue version of a space marine (it’s about 10″ tall and very, very popular so always sells out rapidly). Currently, they don’t seem to be offering it for sale, but if you ask them you may find out if there are any plans to release it again soon.

He’s about 75mm tall and really nicely sculpted. If you’re prepared to shell out, then he’s actually pretty cheap at just £19.55 (about $30?). If you’re prepared to go further then it’s possible to pay someone for the model to be radically converted to represent a member of your boyfriend’s favourite chapter.

For that sort of thing, expect to pay about $500 and to wait a few months. More money=quicker work.
