What’s a good army to start with in Warhammer 40k?
I am completely and totally overwhelmed. The amount of armies that I can choose from is boggling my mind, and as a noob to tabletop gaming, I just don’t know where to start!
I currently own a “full” (it was horribly pre-painted, given to me by a friend, and I have no idea how many points it is) Chaos Space Marine army that I’m using to hone my painting skills on, but I’m looking to start playing seriously (and to get an army that I can model and paint from scratch on my own), and I’m not sure I want to go CSM. What I really want is a balanced army, good for a begginer, that’s pretty easy to paint.
I’ve been having a hard time find answers to questions like this, so any help will be appreciated! Thanks a bunch.
well my thoughts go to 3 armys when you say this. the first is the normal space marines. they are a very solid all around good army. the secound is the orks. they are a very close combat orintated army and are good tough and theres alot of them. the last is the tyranids. they are very customizable if you want them to shoot they can shoot if you want close combat thier good at that too and theres alot. ill rank the armys for you easy to hard but it differs for everyone. so people be open minded
1 space marines
2 tyranids
3 orks
4 imperial guard
5 chaos
6 deamon hunters
7 sisters of battle
8 tau
9 eldar
10 dark eldar
the tau are hard becuase they shoot extreamly well but any large army can close combat rush and win easy. the eldar are difficult becuase one unit is good againtst 1 type of unit. its like rock paper scissors. dark eldar are extreamly difficult becuase they are the same way but more complicated and have less variety
