(Warhammer 40k) Which army should I go with?

I want to pick up the tabletop game and I’m stumped on who to chose. I want to go with Imperial Guard but I have a feeling they’re awful. Can someone give me some pros and cons on the different armies?

Also, can anyone recommend a spray paint I could use. Plan to start off just spray painting them all at once and them individually. That’s what you do, right?

Imperial guard:
Pros: can hoard both tanks and infantry, decent shooting skill, fairly cheap per unit, platoon orders
Cons: poor armor save, expensive to collect, most players will design their lists to kill your tanks

Space Marines:
Pros: heavy infantry, easy to collect, GW posterchild, depending on generic or chapter may be excellent at close combat, shooting, or hoarding, easy painting(98% same color)
Cons: prepare for many marine vs marine fights, rather expensive tanks

Grey Knights:
Pros: New book, heavy infantry
Cons: expensive units

Orks:
Pros: Hoard, some of the more awesome conversions possible, some random awesome rules
Cons: expensive to collect, semi-weak tanks, poor armor

Dark Eldar:
Pros: Diversity, speed, poisoned weapons,
Cons: weak armor, most squards require a transport to survive long, tanks are weak and will crash if a fly hit them at the wrong angle

Eldar:
Pros: Diversity, specialized units, speed
Cons: Color coordinated shoot me first units, specialized units

Tau:
Pros: Excellent shooters, long range, battlesuits, decent armor
Cons: Weak melee

Chaos:
Pros: See Marines
Cons: Weak generic daemon profiles, same expensive tanks, specific god armylists nerfed

Chaos Daemons:
Pros: Everything has invulnerable saves, decent melee, the better daemon profiles
Cons: Weak saves, few ranged units

Witch Hunters:
Pros: See Marines, Inquisition units add nice variety
Cons: Everything must have a flamethrower

Tyranids:
Pros: Hoard, Monstrous Creatures
Cons: Monstrous creatures are your anti-tank

As for spray paint, idk GW sells some but I don’t use it, find primer and you should be good
