Would wars be better fought with paint guns?
You could still have the armies, their structure and ability to climb in ranks, still have all the action, helicopters, tanks, ships and platforms – just simply be armed with paint guns.
You’d also still have the weapons industries, the clean up squads, mine sweepers etc. So no jobs lost, just simply replace the ammo with paint.

Bill F, I think the problems with wars fought on computers would be the enormous loss of revenue and jobs in the arms industries – the paint guns would solve that. Also, with computers you’d loose the social element of camaraderie – and really you wouldn’t see that you’ve “been there” in terms of actual destruction and scars. With paint guns, you’d cause quite a lot of havoc, and get serious bruises!
Your sentiments are honourable but due to human nature this will never work unfortunately. There will always be one belligerent who will change the paint gun into a lethal weapon and then it’s back to square one.
The only way I could envisage war being fought without the loss of human life is in the distant future where humans fight each other using machines. Once the machines of one side are defeated, the war is over.
I however think this is a very, very slim possibility.
