How can I take down The Imperium?
I play Tau and Chaos Marines and I am looking to find some advice or strategies for one of the armies to play against Imperial Guard and Gray Knights.
My friends and I all play 5th edition rules, this counting the new Grey Knights Codex that just came out. The battles are usually 1500 points and I wanted to know which army to use against them, as well as what types of units in each that would be especially effective.
Plasma weapons tend to be quite effective against regular space marines, not sure about grey knights, and anything with an AP of at least 5 that can put out a decent number of shots is effective against guard infantry.
So against infantry guard, go with the heavy bolter, and against armour guard, i recommend melta weapons or armour of your own.
For tau, the hammerhead with, if i recall correctly, the railgun, is highly effective against guard tanks. And broadsides tend to also do fairly well.
