Warhammer 40K tabletop strategy?
I play space marines and daemonhunters and am looking for strategies to use against the Tau and Orks. Right now, I have very limited amounts of tanks or other heavy weapons, relying mostly on fast attack units.
Also, I mainly fight battles using the Cities of Death rules, so I try to avoid tanks and have more close-combat suited squads.
i play tau, and you should know that getting up close and personal to fire warriors is deadly to their force, which is why they stay back behind your range and snipe your guys out. space marines are badass, and can kill regular tau troops and drones close up, but take care in looking out for Kroot reinforcements, because they are the main force used by the tau in close combat, and they will RIP YOU APART if they can. also, crisis suits are very powerful, especially Commander Farsight, (who’s dawn blade ignores all armor saves) the crisis suits are suited for destroying large amounts of troops from near and far, broadsides are also extremely effective with their rail guns and smart missile systems, your best bet is to hide behind cover and distract them with useless meat distractions out in the open. the Hammerhead tank and sky-ray missile system are devastating on the battlefield, keep your important units behind cover if your opponents have those and keep behind cover.
as for orks i would suggest sniping from far away due to their weak armor and close combat expertise. i dont know much about them but i would definitely keep my distance and take them out from afar
