What did the kushite nubians of meroe actually look like?
Ancient egyptian murals depict them as being tall, extremely dark, and platyrrhine(blunt nosed). I also read an article that analyzed skulls from meroitic tombs which mentioned that these people most likely had epicanthic folds. So it seems most likely that they looked very much like nilo-saharan peoples of the Sudan such as the Dinka and Nuer. Yet there is a website called Racial Reality which asserts that they were “hamitic” in apperance(like the modern ethiopians and somali’s). I suspect that the hamitic theory is inaccurate but I’d like a second opinion.
Nubian is an ethnic group. They are the native people of northern Sudan. This is what they look like:

Kush was one of the names their ancient civilization had. So they were and are still sometimes called Kushites. This is where the name Cushite or Cushitic came from, which is a collective ethnic and linguistic group under which Somalis and some Ethiopians like Oromo and Afar fall under. So they have genetic links to Somalis, Oromo, Afar and other groups. The alternate name for Cushitic is Hamitic.
Kush was a kingdom that is now called Sudan. Southern Sudan is where Bantu blacks live (Nilo-Saharan) and northern Sudan is where Cushitic blacks live. This is what the south Sudanese look like:

Like Ethiopia, Sudan is a country where different ethnic groups are all collectively native Sudanese yet they all have distinct looks. But unlike Ethiopia, these different ethnic groups also have distinct looks. Yet they were all known as inhabitants of Kush/ancient Sudan. Which is why there is confusion about what they looked like. Fact is, Sudanese sometimes look Hamitic, sometimes they look Nilo-Saharan.
EDIT: Today, Sudanese generally speak Arabic due to colonization but their native language is Nobiin.
