deductive logic problem…
an island has 3 types of creatures. elves, gremlins and humans. elves always tell the truth, humans sometimes tell the truth and sometimes lie, and gremlins always lie. Elves are the of the highest rank, humans second and gremlins last. Unfortunately elves, humans and gremlins are indistinguishable by appearance.
So creature A says: I am a lower rank that Creature B
and creature B says: That isn’t true.
What are creatures a and b?

A is human and B is gremlin. Here is the logic:
If A is telling the truth:
then he is not elf (because he is not the highest rank) and he is not gremlin (because he is not lying). So he is human. That makes B elf. But B disagrees, meaning that he is lying. Elves can’t lie, so therefore A is lying.
A is lying:
therefore, A cannot be an elf, and A is a higher rank than creature B. A cannot be a gremlin, because he is higher than at least one rank. So A is human. B is therefore a gremlin. B says that he is not a lower rank than A, which is a lie, which is consistent with gremlins.
