40K What is the best thing to buy after black reach?
I bought Black Reach last november, and I have the rules down now. So I was wondering what would be a good thing for a beginner to buy. I am thinking a Rhino or Razorback…
Also, I play Space marines, not orks.
If I were you, I’d buy more tactical squads (Troops) first. As a rule, you can’t go wrong with more infantry as they are the backbone of your army. Given time and proper equipment, your infantry can go anywhere and do anything; and Space Marines have probably the best basic troops in the game. Also note that in the current rules only Troops can claim objectives.
If I were you, I’d get 2 or 3 more tactical squads. After that I’d look at getting them transports. As to whether you should choose a Rhino or Razorback – that all depends on what you want: the main reason to have a Rhino is to get your full-strength squad somewhere a little raster and in relative safety from small arms fire. The main reason to take a Razorback is for the mobile heavy weapon.
If I were running a Space Marine army, I’d eventually want to get a Whirlwind and some assault squads too.
