Neither.
Think about it. If one was inherently better than the other, why would anyone take the other one?
The Rhino is a very cheap, very reliable transport that can respond flexibly, giving your units valuable mobility and, of course, can continue to operate, moving different units, throughout the game unless it’s immobilized by fire.
The Drop Pod gives instant deployability in depth but, once landed, is immobile and offers no further flexibility.
Neither one is inherently better than the other, but each offers different advantages and disadvantages to the player. Part of the pleasure of the Warhammer 40,000 game is identifying which advantages suit you best and then learning how to mitigate the disadvantages.
There are, I have to say, some practical differences that are worth bearing in mind, though, when you make your decision. First, there are some rules queries outstanding as to how the Drop Pod is treated: whether the ramps count as part of the hull, for example, and whether opponents can draw a line of fire through it (and, if so, whether they can still do so if the player chooses to glue the hatches shut when building the pod). Moreover, the Drop Pod is a BIG model compared to the Rhino and that makes it awkward and inconvenient to transport easily – especially if you mount an entire army in them.
Practically, therefore, the Rhino is a more convenient choice, even if it may be less exciting.
