warhammer 40k (how to paint…)?
Ok, so I need a little help on painting parts of the warhammer 40k model. I am a chaos player and I need help on painting the bones (especially the skulls). The way i paint them right now is I paint them right now is put a layer of dark flesh down, drybrush graveyard earth on them and then drybrush bleached bone on. It looks ok but i want it to look awesome because the chaos space marines have alot of bone on them.
ps. i need extra help on the skulls
If you really, really want it to look awesome, I’d suggest not drybrushing; trying using washes and building up highlights instead; it may be more tedious, but it gives a much cleaner, more professional look. I personally find drybrushing too sloppy.
One way to paint bone is;
1/2 Thin coats of snakebite leather
Wash it with some brown ink
Go over the raised sections with snakebite leather
Highlight with bleached bone
Or, you could just go;
Scorched brown basecoat
Highlight with bestial brown
Highlight with bleached bone
Extreme highlight with skull white
Feel free to add more steps in-between the highlights to blend the colour more slowly; it may be time consuming, but it’ll look great when it’s done.
Alternatively, you could just go to games workshop and ask a staff member to teach you how to paint bone…
