warhammer 40k starting apocalypse (as orks, not asking for detailed unit stats)?
i wanted to start playing apocalypse with my ork army, but i got a few questions first:
1) i was browsing the list of imperial armour books but i cant find a up to date one with the ork unit stats; what books do i need to start apocalypse as orks? right now the only books i have are the rulebook and the codex (for normal 40k)
2) what should focus on when choosing units? just what i think looks cool? speed? lots of huge templates?
3) any more things i should know/do/get?
1) Ork Codex, Apocalypse rulebook and Apocalypse Redux; but don’t forget to check out the free Apocalypse datasheets on the GW website. Don’t worry about the Imperial Armour books for now; although the next volume is going to be 50% Orks.
2) For Apocalypse, the rule of cool applies. It’s all about the spectacle and the story, not about winning or losing. You should take as much pleasure in the spectacular annihilation of your troops as that of the enemy.
3) Impressive terrain pieces are always a good investment for APOC, as well as really big vehicles. So an Orkified Baneblade or other superheavy would be a good plan as well as, obviously, a Stompa or three. Or four.
