How would a standard uniform for a Medieval-like palace guard appear?
The kingdom has more of a western feel to it and they have kings and all that stuff. However, I need a standard uniform for a palace guard because my main character that the story begins with is a palace guard until he discovers a secret plot going on that could spell out doom for the kingdom. Any ideas? If it helps any, the guard is like me a bit being six feet tall at least. He has dirty-blond hair (not dirty dirty just the color type and not actually dirty, you could say brownish blond I guess) and blue eyes. He’s not muscular and a big hunk of a guy, but he’s fit and agile because of his extensive training. And unlike a lot of other palace guards who got conscripted for duty, he actually wanted to learn the work of a man-at-arms. Therefore, he’s a lot better at it than some who just did lazy, half-hearted jobs. Well, that’s about it.

There were so many different kingdoms in Medieval times – and each had their own uniforms for palace guards. Best suggestion would be to google medieval uniforms.
