Is the new warhammer Beastmen a strong army?

I am a Warhammer 40k BA player and was wanting to try Warhammer and saw the new Beastmen. They looked interesting, but I want to know if they are good or just a boring army. Thanks

More so now than at any time in Games Workshop’s history, armies are on a fairly level playing field (or table) when it comes to strength and it really comes down to your own personal preferences.

As a BA player, you’ll probably like the sheer destruction and aggression of the Beastmen and they certainly have some strong individual units and special rules.

Unlike 40k however, Warhammer Fantasy is much more balanced when it comes to individual tooled up units. In 40k, I’ve seen terminator squads tear through entire armies themselves, but a unit of minotaurs are unlikely to have the same impact (although their impact is still strong) on the fantasy table.

I’ve not seen the army book yet, but based on the last edition, you could have huge horde armies full of gors right the way down to armies of purely minotaurs so there’s huge scope for your own interest.

As with any army, it really comes down to what’s going to keep you interested. If you just paint models so you can play games, take a deeper look in the rules to see if you’ll enjoy playing with them. ON the other hand, if you love spending time painting all your models, the new Beastmen are definitely some of the nicest looking models GW have made.
