Warhammer 40k Titan help?
Hello everyone! I have been browsing some WH40K forums and found some very inspiring pics of scratch-built titans. That got me wanting to build and field my own titan legion! However I was wondering how an army of only titans plays in an apocalypse game, or if it is even credible. Also, if there are any useless titans (if there is such a thing) or at least titans that don’t stand up to their points, could anyone let me know? The last thing I want to do is spend $300 and months of work on a reaver, only to find out it sucks! Thanks!
I did a little more research on titans (got my hand on an apocalypse book… may have been online 
). Anyways, scratch the reaver part (can’t find him under Imperium, must be chaos?) I would like to learn about useful configs for titans, and what combos to avoid. Also, I thought there were knight titans, but can’t seem to find ‘em. Anyone explain that to me please?
Well, the GW Apocalypse book says that there are three main Imperial walker titans and these are Warhound, Reaver and Emperor and the Emperor being the biggest. They are all well worth their points as they can (with a little protection from some infantry around their feet) hold their own against a whole standard army (no titans). Basically you only have to worry about your titan if you do not defend it at all or are up against a bigger, badder titan.
I think Reaver titans are in a Forgeworld book or in GW Apocalypse reload or something and something similar with the Knight but they are real and both Imperial and Chaos.
The configs for titans are just like vehicles but more powerful, if you want to kill mass infantry then take big blast templates or lots of shots or if it is tank-hunting then go for the high strength weapons and Destroyer weapons (marked with a D instead of a strength number) and Vortex missiles, I say VORTEX MISSILES are incredible powerful and are the reward of anyone who creates a Warlord Titan, just say bye bye to half your enemies units.
