Any good ideas for a Dungeon’s and Dragons/ Warhammer theme room?
My 5 yr old is obsessed with the destruction part of warhammer. He loves the dragons, goblins, trolls, etc. We’re going to try to redo his room around that. He also does share his room with his 11 month old sister (we only have 2 rooms). So her side will be more of the good side; fairies, princess, good elves, etc. We need some ideas; paint ideas, pictures, pretty much any idea around that theme. Right now their room is all blue with stars and planets.
Can’t go wrong with a good dragon!
Speaking as a long-time Warhammer fan with a 5yo (and 2yo) of my own, I’d be cautious of including the “darker” elements, such as chaos warriors, daemons and skeletons. You could do a great transition, with dragons giving way to noble knights who turn to rescue princesses who are waited upon by fluttering flower fairies (I’ve had my fair share of painting fairies for my 6yo niece, too).
Bearing in mind that the time may come when you want to paint over the lot (if you move to a larger house, family murals aren’t good for sales!), you’ll need to sand down the walls to completely remove the outlines of the painted figures. Alternatively, look for suitable wall stickers – the range available now is immense.
Also, you might like to restrict the mural to a band, say, two feet high in the middle of the wall so as to reduce the amount of elbow grease when you have to sand it off.
