New to Warhammer 40k need help building a 750 tyranid starting army?
I have decided to play tyranids. I have read a little bit about them and plan on getting the real codex later this week. I have an idea of what i would like to play . I want to play a balanced shooty aggro army-or a fast aggressive durable list that demolishes and or survives until it can destroy. I would like to use Genestealers with a brood lord , 2-3 biovore , 2 zoanthrope, swarm lord , tervigons -termagaunts . Not sure on whether i want to use the lord as hq or not. Swarmlord seems good but I have also hear about alot of static about it too. I would love to use the tervigon with an endless swarm kinda effect, but I really dont want to rush to dish out $100-$150 just to make one tervigon.
I have about 1 month to 2 months to really flesh out my army. I would apprecitate any list suggestions as well as biomorphs and plan of attack. I dont really have a good understanding of deepstrike or the drop pod but I would like to be kinda sneaky..
The Swarmlord is a great choice for armies of 1850 and above, but below that is too much of a vulnerable points sink to make it worth it.
Start with a Warrior Prime as your HQ choice. Ignore Biovores for ranged attacks (what were they thinking?) and look, instead, at Hive Guard, which can shoot around corners and ignore cover! Zoanthropes are essential to tank hunting for the Tyranids and two are a good choice. Fill in your gaps with either Genestealers or Termagants. Broodlord? Well, it’s not a bad choice, but you might be better off replacing him with more genestealers.
