Warhammer Fantasy Question: Armies of Chaos?
I’ve been in military last 5 years and haven’t played warhammer since. I want to start again with a new army. My question is can the three Chaos sects (demons,beastmen,warriors) be used in one army like they used to be allowed? Or they three different armys now thanks. Please give me the technical rules answer, not if your friends agree to allow it, Thank you.
In strict terms, they are now separate armies and not to be mixed. Of course in pre-arranged friendly games you can do whatever you like as long as your opponent is happy with it. But for the purposes of pick-up games, club play and tournaments, the armies cannot be mixed.
The principle exception is in the Legendary Battles rules governing enormous conflicts between hundreds of models and thousands of points. In Legendary Battles there is an allies system which means that related armies can be mixed. Obviously, mixing warriors, beasts and daemons would be perfectly allowed in a Legendary Battle.
