Confused about Warhammer! Please help!?
I’ve just started learning how to play Warhammer Fantasy, and I’ve got a few questions that I can’t find the answers to in my version of the Warhammer rulebook (I think it’s an old one).
1. How do I know how many dice to use?- Is it one die per unit? I’m not sure!
2. How do Points work?- I know how to tell how many points a unit is worth- but is there a limit to how many points I can use in an army?
3. What exactly do Standard Bearers, Musicians and Champions do?- I don’t know if it’s specific to a certain kind of Standard Bearer, Musician or Champion from a certain army or if they’re all the same. All I can pick up is something to do with giving a + rule to something? If so, what does that mean?
All hints, tips, etc. are deeply appreciated 
1. In CC you get as many attacks as there are models in combat using their attacks number and plus one if they charged. So a Chaos lord would get 5 attacks to anyone in base contact and may divided up amongst multiple models(generally in the case of a hero or lord but also champions can be targeted). A regiment of Warriors with 5 models in the base contact would get 10 attacks. For shooting it depends if its a multiple shot weapon like the repeater crossbow, a thrown weapon, or a move or fire weapon but most only have one shot but it is one shot per model shooting, for more info look at page 54 of the rulebook.
2. Generally scenarios and mutual decision amongst the players is how you set point limits. 500 pts is small and short game. 2000 pts is a standard large game. 5000 pts is a hell of an epic game that will take weeks probably to play. So only limit is the one you and your opponent agree on.
3. Champions are generally the base unit with one additional attack that can challenge at the beginning of combat. Standards grant you a +1 to combat resolution. Musicians grant a +1 leadership to a fleeing unit up to LD 10, and give you +1 to combat resolution in the case of a drawn combat. Check out Rulebook page 80-81 for more info.
