Choosing A Warhammer Fantasy Army?
I was into WF a few years ago with my friends, but we didn’t really dedicate enough time to it. Now I ca find a way to dedicate time to this game, but I don’t have any models left, and I’m nearly broke. I was playing the Skaven, but I’d like a change from that. I don’t know which army to choose, but I’ve been looking at the Tomb Kings and the Ogres.

Also, I’ve got no painting skill and no one to play with. So that might influence my decision.
Hm. Well, the first thing you should do is sell your Skaven on eBay. Put the whole lot up as one auction starting at 99p, and embed some external photos in the auction description to save costs. The more photos, the better.
That’ll give you an idea of how much you can start off with to spend on your new army.
Ogre Kingdoms is a nice, cheap army to start with. A regiment can consist of as few as three ogres, and most of them come as plastic sets that are easy to assemble and paint.
Tomb Kings are a little pricier and require larger regiments – but skeletons are even easier to paint than Ogres, which is a plus.
You should check eBay for bargains (perhaps even pre-painted models, as a lot of serious Warhammer eBayers prefer unpainted or mint models, so you can save a lot of cash buying up painted ones, if you don’t care too much about quality) whichever you choose.
As far as having no one to play with goes, you need to do some searching. If you’ve got a Friendly Local Gaming Store (FLGS) then get down there and find out when gaming night is. If they don’t have one, then ask around – there’s a good chance that there are other people looking for opponents, too. There might even be a local club. A lot of clubs who have enough people to be self-sustaining don’t advertise, but if you ask the right person, you’ll get invited along. Alternatively, get a few players together and start your own (I did this – read the blog of my progress at http://wargamingclub.blogspot.com).
Back to the original question, if you want to get playing fast then go with Ogres. If you’re prepared to spend a bit more time assembling and painting, then Tomb Kings are an option. In gameplay, they’re very different armies but if you like them, you like them.
