How to assemble miniature warhammer 40K, ork in mega armour?
My younger brothers are having difficulty assembling their minatures
otherwise known as
ork mega-nob
can anyone help?

Metal models, especially big, complicated ones like the meganob, don’t always cast perfectly true. This means that you can get annoying air gaps that resist all attempts to glue them surface to surface.
These models require a bit of advanced modelling called “pinning”. For this, you will need a tiny hand drill, available from Games Workshop and usually called a “pin vise”. You will also need a 1mm bit (the one from GW comes with this bit included), a paper clip, a sharp modelling knife, a pair of wire clippers and some superglue.
First, make sure the surfaces are filed as flat and clean as possible. Then identify the point where you want to insert your pin (see later) and put a tiny dot of white paint on the spot where you’re going to drill on one side of the join. Press the two parts together then release. You should end up with a blob of white paint on both parts, indicating where the pin will join the parts together. Allow the paint to dry.
Now, using the sharp modelling knife (careful!!), work a tiny hole into each part where the blob of paint can be found – this is to give your drill bit purchase so it doesn’t slip and impale your thumb (this happens to me a lot).
Apply the drill bit to each part and drill 2-3mm into the metal. now use the wire cutters to cut about 6mm of straight wire from the paper clip. Without applying any glue, insert the piece of wire into one hole and marry it up with its opposite side to make sure that the wire isn’t too long (if it is, clip a bit of one end with the clippers) and that the parts go together the way you want them to.
Now take it all apart again and glue the wire into place on one side, add superglue to the other side and press the part in place.
For particularly large, heavy joints (like the arms on Ghazghkull, say) you might want to use two or even three pins or larger gauges of wire and drill bit.
You may find, even with the wire, that there is still a visible air gap one the parts are glued together. To fill these gaps, GW sells “greenstuff” (a.k.a. Kneadtite) a 2-part epoxy putty that can be mixed together and pressed carefully into the gaps. It dries solid in about 24 hours and can be painted on normally.
