Hi, I need help deciding which Warhammer 40k army I’d like to start with?
I suppose I should say the armies I’m more interested in first:
Chaos Space Marines
Necrons
Eldar
I just have a few questions to ask to see which one would fit me best, thanks in advance:
Which one of these is the least common? (which one do less people collect, I have this thing about being different than everyone else 
)
Which one is the ‘easiest’ too paint? (If none are ‘easier’ I’d really appreciate what they’re like to paint!)
Which one has the most diverse models/units? (Not the most on there list as such, the most different ‘types’ I.E Melee, Ranged, Heavy support…)
Which one would be the ‘cheapest’ for a full army?
How do each of them play? (if anyone plays any of these three, I’d appreciate knowing a bit about there tactics and methods)
Thanks in advance! (I won’t be basing my entire decision on this; I just need some help )
id say eldar are least common. necrons are probably easiest to paint. chaos space marines definitely are the most diverse of these three. chaos and necrons play very similar in that there a pretty straight forward army. you can do what ever you wish tactically with either as both are super tough. the necrons have the ability to come back to life and share the same basic stats of chaos. id say chaos would be better suited for melee as necrons are good from a distance, however both armies pack a heavy punch either way. the eldar are for a more finesse minded general. their plenty deadly but cant take a whole lot of punishment. their strength comes rom their quickness, hit and run tactics. though the howling banshees and the harlequins are very deadly melee and their potent physcers the farseers are deadly. and lets never forget the god incarnate their avatar. really boils down to your style of play and what you want to do on the Field of valor. i currently have the noble space wolves who on a regular basis spill the blood of the traitor legions as well as disassemble the necron host. might look to serving the emperor. emporeror protect.
