where should i start with an imperial guard army for warhammer 40k?
I know I will be getting a battleforce, im just working on a low budget and want suggestions for a small (maybe 500-1000 point) army. And i really do not know much about the guard, i just bought the codex today. I also have space marines-blood angels, and tau.
Look for tactica for each unit in the guard codex to gain an understanding on their strengths, weaknesses, optimal configuration, and their functions on the battlefield. Join some forums, ask some questions on said forums.
Look up PaperHammer 40k, you’ll find some paper models which you can use for private games, just to test out different units fo real tournaments (especially tanks, the models are nice, and guard revolves around tanks)
That’s all I’ve got for now. But in summary, tactics-wise, guard are a great army to play with if you like hordes of units and tanks. Lots and lots of tanks. And did I mention that guard have nice tanks? Because if I haven’t, remember to spam guard tanks.
