Tomb Raider Legend Snake, how do I kill it?
I know that I’m supposed to pull the lever and drop the cages onto it’s head. Where should I be standing so that it will be under the cages? When I fire at the bells and it’s distracted, I don’t have enough time to put away the guns and use the grappler. By the time I pull the lever, the snake is no longer distracted but firing fireballs at me or biting me. Is there a keyboard button to put away the guns quicker? Also how do I get the snake under the cages furthest away from land? When I’m on the end of the bridge, the snake is no where near the cages above.
It doesnt matter where you stand. The game automatically positions the lake serpent depending on which direction you are facing and where Lara is aiming her guns. The best strategy I have found is to go to the edge of the platform, before the lake begins, to the left and right, and then aim at the bells. If the snake tries to attack you, jump/roll out of the way, continuing to aim and shoot at the bells. After a few shots, the snake gets distracted and looks at the bells.
Now, unless you are playing on the PSP version, getting to the Magnetic Grapple is pretty easy and just requires a single button press. The consoles (PS2/XBox/Xbox 360) versions all have single button triggers that activate the grapple. Just make Lara face in the general direction of the lever and then immediately toggle the grapple as soon as the snake goes near the ringing bells and you should bring the bell crashing down on the snake’s head.
Once you get the nearest two cages down on the snake’s head, you will have to run on the long pier-like structure in the center to get to the furthest cages. Just position Lara such that she faces in the general direction of the bell and cage and the snake will automatically appear there, allowing you to perform the necessary action. You dont have to stand at the end of the pier, somewhere in the center is good enough – once the bells start ringing loudly enough to get its attention, it will move towards the bell and stare at it for 2 seconds or so, giving you just about time to bring the cage crashing down on its head.
