Why object oriented programming?
So I was looking into OOP and it looks like everything that you can do with it can be done with non OOP. Private class also looks very useless seeing as only public class commands can use them. So why is OOP popular?
There really is no non-oop language unless you go to assembly. Even if you tried to make a non-oop program your variable list for anything these days would be extremely taxing and you would give up. Sure back in the comodore 64 days when you had no graphics and you just wanted to add and multiply numbers (which all things are added or multiplied and nothing else exsists). Even basic with it’s goto that might as well have been methods. Simply imagine a Star Trek game. you have the enterprise which is a ship and you have all sorts of enemies that fly ships to. Without oop you would have to define each ship and it’s capabilites. With oop you could create infinite #/0 number of ships. So if you think you can feesably create an infinite number of ships without using oop then please update and show me an example I’d be extremely interested in seeing it!!!!
Just for fun cause I’m bored I wanted to make an infinite number of “ships” in oop in Java cause my Visual Studio 2008 takes a little longer to load.
