For Warhammer 40K is assault on a black reach a good deal?
If my calculations are correct lol, this set is worth over 150-200 and it only costs 60.
Yes, the boxed set is an amazing deal! In past boxed set editions you were given a rulebook, a small space marine army, and a small army of another race (Orks in 2nd, Dark Eldar in 3rd, Tyranids in 4th).
Pros:
1) This is the first set that has a complete army, i.e. not just a commander and a bunch of the same infantry unity. You get heavy support, fast attack, HQ, troops; it’s AMAZING.
2) The models are unique. In previous editions you got 20 of the same looking Ork or Space Marine, but in this one you get troops with different weapons, different styles for each model; it’s great.
3) You get all of the dice, templates, and measuring sticks that you need, plus you get the small rulebook (which is really handy when trying to pack it up).
Con: if you don’t want Space Marines or Orks (who wouldn’t want Orks? They rock!) then you won’t need the models, but you could always sell them.
But yes, Assault on Black Reach is the best boxed set that I’ve seen GW release to date.
